Getting snapped in an amazing off-duty look is practically a celebrity rite of passage—and for many, the best Alo leggings are the key to making a street-style look pop. Despite having their own distinct styles, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner, Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift, and Kaia Gerber have all rocked a pair on more than one occasion. But while Alo's roster of celebrity fans seems to grow on the daily, the leggings are just as sought after by non-A-listers—and it's not hard to see why.

Alo leggings and yoga pants might be on the more expensive side of athleisure, but they're true wardrobe essentials. Whether you wear them for exercising or binge-watching, the leggings are perfect for serving up cute loungewear looks. We've seen celebs pair theirs with statement-making outerwear, mini Uggs, white sneakers, and even crew socks and comfy walking sandals.

The brand designs matching sets (sports bras, sweat-wicking exercise headbands, running shorts, bike shorts, gym bags—you name it) that are meant to make you look and feel good whether you’re sweating it out, grabbing a latte from the café next door, or chilling at home. And like other brands that sell high-performance tights, Alo's even coined signature fabrics and styles that cofounder Danny Harris spoke to us about below.

We know snapping up a pair of Alo leggings won't magically bless with you the celeb wardrobe of your dreams, but you have to start somewhere, right? Scroll on for our breakdown of the best Alo leggings—from the cult favorite Airlift leggings to its ever-so-versatile cargo pants—backed up by rave reviews from happy customers.

If you want high-rise leggings that look and feel like second skin, get yourself a pair of Airlifts. The fabric is opaque and seriously smooth to the touch, and Harris says it's a great option for sweaty workouts like running, Spinning, or HIIT because of how lightweight and sweat-wicking the material is. The 7/8 crop is also ideal for petites who don't want a full-length style that'll bunch up at the ankles.

A lot of Alo leggings wear long, which is why petites are obsessed with the Iconic ’90s Capris. The fabric and fit are the same as the Alosoft Lounge Leggings (translation: cozy and lightweight), except you're getting an actually cropped length (even more so than the 7/8 styles). The ribbing at the waist is cute too if you want to wear it with a cropped tank top while out and about.

The first word to come to mind with the Airbrush leggings is compression. The material is thicc, and the tall waistband doesn't budge even during the most pretzel-y of poses. The leggings are seamless (perfect if you want a "sculpted" look) and have a soft, cotton-like feel that Harris recommends for vinyasas, barre, and outdoor activities like hiking. The Airbrush is also a true full-length style that's proved clutch for taller shoppers (see below).

Stay tucked in all the right places with these compressive high-waist leggings. They don't have a superthick waistband, but reviewers report that it stays put, no matter how hard the workout is. And don't worry about sweat stains on this lighter shade; the material is known to be quick-drying too.

Although they're not quite as popular as they used to be, these are the OG celeb-approved Alo leggings. They fit and feel like the Airbrush style, except have glossy panels and mesh details on the front and back thighs and shins for an edgy look. Stars typically go for classic black, but we love this high-waist pair in all four colors—especially the gorgeous gravel hue pictured.

Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber have stepped out in these flared split-hem leggings more than once—and we totally get the appeal. They're sculpting, great for people with longer legs, and versatile enough to wear beyond the studio. (They're ideal for low-impact activities.) On the Alo site, you'll see them styled with boots and sandals, and many reviewers note that they like to wear these on a night out.

We love a balletcore moment, and these mesh-paneled leggings get an A++ from Glamour commerce writer Andrea Navarro for being super stretchy, quick-drying, and easy to wash and care for. She wears them to Pilates and barre.

What's better than leggings with pockets? Leggings with a hidden zipper pocket, of course. This stretchy, sculpting pair has a discreet pocket in the front (it's on the upper hip; we had to zoom in) to hold your keys or AirPods while you go for your morning run. They're cut to a capri length, which petites can appreciate, with a slightly shiny finish that reviewers seem to love.

These crazy-soft leggings (they're not called Alosoft for nothing!) are everything you'll want in an everyday pair: snug yet stretchy and still comfy after wearing for hours on end. Harris describes the fabric as having a "velvety feel" that's breathable and opaque at the same time, meaning they're perfect for chill workouts and even chiller lounge sessions.

Weightlifting, power yoga, interval training…these are the leggings you want to wear when a sweaty session is on the books. The high-rise fit doesn't budge—even while doing squats—and the brand's signature Vapor fabric is odor-resistant and moisture-wicking (i.e., no unpleasant sweat stains).

Look. At. Those. Pockets. Two on the front and two on the side? We're being spoiled right now. This compressive pair—made from the thicker Airbrush fabric—is just as functional for long walks as it is comfortable and convenient to work out in.

For the record, this sweatpants-leggings hybrid doesn't nearly get enough hype as it should. Seriously, look at this gem. It combines everything you love about sweats (drawstring waist, side pockets, PJs-esque feel) into a legging that's elevated but still cozy as hell. The lilac hue is also on point for spring and summer.

If you like high-rise styles but prefer a thin waistband, you'll love these leggings for their seamless fit. Because they're made from the same Alosoft fabric as the Lounge leggings up top, this minty number ticks off the "mind-blowingly cozy" checkbox. The flat stitches on the waistband won't dig into your skin either.

Alo introduced its waffle-weave collection two years ago, and it's perfectly on point for lazy weekends or if you still WFH. Harris says the fabric has a cozy, thermal texture that's ideal for stretching or mild workouts.
